New University Board at the University of Design

Schwäbisch Gmünd (imü). The third University Board of the University of Design has been constituted. Klaus Pavel, District President of the Ostalbkreis, will chair the body for the next three years. Vice-chairman is Professor Dr Georg Kneer, of the University. “President Pavel"s commitment is a sign of the deeply rooted importance of the University for the field of design in the region,” said Rector Cristina Salerno after the election, “and the composition of the Board reflects the University"s firm connections with the companies and industries of the region.”
The Board functions like a board of directors. It is composed of both external and internal professionals and experts
whose task is to optimize the future strategic development and suggest measures to raise the profile of the University
of Design.
The Board includes the following external members:
Dr. Dr. Christian Berg, SAP AG, Dr. Ursula Biernert, Porsche AG,
Jörn Petersen, DaimlerChrysler AG, Gabriele Reich Gutjahr,
Robert Bosch GmbH, und Ms. Uli Mayer-Johanssen, MetaDesign AG.
The Board includes the following internal members:
Prof. Dr. Georg Kneer, Prof. Jörg Beck, Hanna Heer, Head Librarian,
Prof. Gabriele N. Reichert, and Prof. Sigmar Willnauer.
The Board will hold office until August 2009.
