Schwäbisch Gmünd (hfg/imü). The third Workshop Week at the University of Design is over. Interdisciplinary workshops were held for five days to complement the studies of the budding designers. Students could choose workshops on topics like product photography, writing classes, or a business start-up.
The Workshop Week offers students a complementary opportunity. Different semester groups can cooperate, and the tutors explain the basics of subjects like modelmaking, project organization, or silkscreen printing.
Further interdisciplinary courses introduce students to journalistic writing, book binding, or special interview techniques. Visiting tutors include Prof. Ulrich Kern, Hanns Sauter, and Jens Märtterer, and several internal staff members of the University contributed.
Staff members and assistants from the Computer Centre, Modelshops, Print Studio, and Press Office introduced a wide range of topics during the week, and at the conclusion students presented their results as spatial concepts, films, texts, or three-dimensional products.
The Workshop Week is the pendant to the International Seminar week held every Spring and taught mainly by teachers from the University"s international partner institutions.
