Learning outcomes

After completing this module successfully you will be able to utilize fundamental scientific techniques, methods, procedures, and criteria in your own design work. You will be able to analyze the relationships between design and media innovations,identify basic concepts and methods of communication design, andpresent the results of each convincingly.

Module content

Survey of the fundamental scientific working techniques such as researching, ordering, classifying, and quoting. Survey of the fundamental scientific methods such as interviewing, observing, content analysis, and experimenting. Central periods of the history of media from the invention of writing to the introduction of the Internet. Important stages of the history of design from the industrial age to the new realism of the 1990s.Survey of the specializations within communication design, and an analytic examinationofexisting communication products.
