Appointed as Professor of Product Design at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd in 2007, Reichert is Course Leader BA Product Design. After studying engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Weingarten specializing in energy and vehicle technology he studied Investment Goods Design at the Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. In 1993 he was a member of the development team “Design for production” at the Fraunhofer Institute Stuttgart IPA. From 1993-1997 he was project leader at MH Engineering in Germany and Switzerland and from 1997-2004 project leader in Studio De Lucchi, Milan. During this period Reichert opened his own office, and has developed office furniture, medical technology, and light fittings and lighting technology, with products for Artemide, Armani, Brunner, iGuzzini, Interstuhl, Leifheit, and Molteni that have sold worldwide and won several design prizes. From 2004-2007 Reichert was Professor at the Design Department of the University of Applied Sciences Aachen.
