Appointed Professor for Design Foundations and Media Design in 1997, Götte has been the representative for the area of Design Foundations and was Vice-Rector from 2003-2009. After studying visual design in Schwäbisch Gmünd and at the Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart he was assistant to the Rector of the HfG from 1991-1995 and from 1997 lecturer for design foundations. He was part-time lecturer at the University of Economics and Technology in Dresden and from 2001-2006 guest professor at the University of Applied Sciences Vorarlberg, Dornbirn. He headed projects in the development aid programme “Lincos” in Costa Rica from 2000-2005. He co-authored the book “The World of Signs”, with Prof. Dr. M. Krampen and Prof. M. Kreidl, published in 2007. In 1992 Götte founded the design office “thema gestaltung” in Munich for didactic communication and multi-media exhibition concepts, whose clients included the German Museum Bonn, the Smithsonian Institution Washington, the Hermann von Helmholtz Community, the University of Bonn, Bavarian Radio Munich, the City of Munich, BMW, and various book and music publishers.
