Learning outcomes

After completing this module successfully you will be capable of recognizing strategic possibilities and procedures for the strategic development of sustainable innovations and of applying them. You will have broadened your design possibilities by learning a canon of strategic methods and will be able to incorporate strategic analytic influences and further development parameters into the potential of your ideation processes. Thus you will be capable of initiating, evaluating, and putting into practice processes in the triad of business requirements, user needs, and technological innovation.

Module content

Instruments for business and context analysis, macro-environmental analysis. Formulation of strategies for products, processes, and communication. User-centred design development in relation to possible futures and technological scenarios. Creating business models in the context of product innovation and company strategy. Creating structural and quantitative problem-solving methods. Design of management systems. Recognizing and an applying technological trends and methods. Hyper-cycles, market forecasts, scenarios, perspective maps.
