Prof. Marion Kießling
was appointed at the beginning of the Winter Semester 2005-6 to teach Product Design and Human Factors.
Born in 1958, she studied engineering at the Technical University in Munich and went on to obtain an MA in industrial design at the Ohio State University.
From 1981 she worked with Tecoplan in Munich developing concepts for the Ergonomics Department at BMW. She worked as a designer with CFI in Tokyo, Japan, and with TOTO in Kyushu between 1991 and 1994. Since 1994 she has been working freelance and has held a guest teaching position in creativity training at the Fachhochschule Munich, Department of Design. She was Professor of Industrial Design (Automotive Design) at Tongji University in Shanghai, PR China from 1998 to 2000, and worked with Cebra Communication and Design in Wolfsburg from 2000 to 2003 where she was responsible for the Volkswagen ergonomics database, a colour database, and for colour research.
