Library

Housed in one of the most handsome Jugendstil rooms in the main building, the library has an international collection of over 22000 books, CD-ROMS, videos, DVDs, and professional journals covering all aspects of design. It is a focal point of the programme and also has a wide range of complementary disciplines including architecture, philosophy, psychology, sociology, technology, and the natural sciences.

Students can use the library"s PC and internet workstations for internal and worldwide research with various search criteria. The library is linked to the Southwest German Library Association (SWB) and many of the books are included in the SWB"s online catalogue. Online access to the library"s stocks can be obtained through a WebPAC (public access catalog).

The library"s primary job is to provide students and teaching staff members of the University with literature and information, but is also available to members of the public. Advice and assistance on research and information skills is available from professional staff.
