MA in Communication Planning and Design

This Communication Planning and design course is for designers, publishers, and other media specialists who wish to widen their knowledge and skills by studying complex content, techniques, and holistic planning tasks. The topics include:
- The development of knowledge-based information systems
- Structuring and representing highly-complex data and information
- Models of knowledge transmission

The content of the units reflects these aims:
- Media technology
- Concepts of strategic communication
- Concepts from the natural and social sciences and the humanties
- Foundations of rhetoric
- Economic, legal, and production aspects of media.

MA students can also participate in undergraduate courses.

During the first semester students will widen their knowledge and skills of design and technology through short study projects with accompanying studies of media and the social sciences.

The second semester enables complex project work emphasizing asapects of communication planning and research techniques.

The third semester is reserved for completion of the MA thesis. This final project combines a design part and its documentation with a related scientific study.

Graduates from the MA course will have a strong sense of responsibility and will be qualified to work at an advanced professional level with novel structures and content requiring innovative design approaches.
