BA in Product Design

This course provides the knowledge, skills, and methods for designing:
- Technical products
- Medical and sports equipment
- Machines and tools
- Products carried and worn on the body
- Furniture
- Transport and mobility systems
- Usability structures
- Workspaces and processes
- Exhibition and architectural systems

Area of emphasis Product Design
This area of emphasis considers the core design and development methods and communications techniques of product design, covering the technical, functional, ergonomic, aesthetic, social, economic, and cultural factors which define industrial products. Design development projects integrate these factors through analysis, synthesis, and testing of solutions utilizing both 2- and 3-dimensional visualization techniques including freehand sketching, computer rendering and simulations with real and virtual models.

Area of emphasis Processes and Products
This area of emphasis concentrates on the search for changes in the environment od products and services. Students examine the framework of factors influencing product development processes and use design and planning techniques to develop optimized alternative solutions. Fields of work include service branches and cycles of use and mobility.
