“The University is small, students and teachers know one another, I"m not just a number.” Florine Beyer, Student in Product Design
BA foundation studies
Foundation studies last 3 semesters and are obligatory for all students. The units consist primarily of lectures and practical exercises.
In these units students concentrate on the basic design areas of area and volume, light and colour, time and movement and so experience the structured relationships between perception and design.
Technical foundation units demonstrate a wide spectrum of manual and digital visualization techniques, including geometric and free drawing, typography, photography, film, and multimedia.
The design foundation units are complemented by scientific models and methods important to designers.
