The structure of the BA in Communication and Product Design courses

Course duration: 7 semesters

1st to 3rd semesters: Interdisciplinary foundation studies

4th semester: Many design electives, with project work accompanied by scientific and technological units.

5th semester: A semester of practical studies, with placement in companies, public insitutions, or design offices in Germany or abroad.

6th semester: Students can study for one semester at one of the University"s partner institutions in Europe or worldwide.

7the semester: Studies are completed with the BA thesis. The award of the Bachelor of Arts degree qualifies graduates for entry to the profession and for application for MA/MSc courses.

BA in Communication Design and Product Design


The structure of the MA in Communication Planning and Design course

Course duration: 3 semesters

1st semester: Further development of design and technological knowledge and skills, with accompanying courses in the social sciences.

2nd semester: Complex project work emphasizing aspects of communication planning and research techniques.

3rd semester: Completion of MA thesis. The award of the Master of Arts degree qualifies graduates for application to doctoral level courses.
