Practical semester
The practical semester gives students an opportunity to experience professional practice at first hand. This can be in a company design department, research institute, or design office in Germany or abroad. These new experiences complement the theoretical studies, help to shape the course of studies in the later semesters, and often provide the initial ideas for later projects. Students are responsible for finding their own placement positions, which must then be endorsed by the University. The University keeps lists of all suitable sources
The practical placement lasts 26 weeks and is an important and integral part of the course of study, and must be completed before admittance to the 6th semester.
