Learning outcomes

After completing this module successfully you will be familiar with fundamental design criteria and principles in 3-dimensional space and their application in the design process. You will be capable of applying various methods of design, simulation, and visualisation and will appreciate their possibilities and limits. You will also have developed fundamental analytical and discursive skills in the context of your design work.

Module content

Study of design questions and principles using application-oriented but not applied exercises: transition form plane to volume, morphology, geometry in space, relationship of form and function, materials and structures. Design variants of increasing complexity will be systematically developed, presented, analyzed, discussed, and judged. Utilization of different techniques of drawing and model making, including simple computer-aided design and visualisation methods.
