Appointed in 2004 to teach Media Authoring, Schendzielorz has been Vice-Rector since 2006 and is Course Leader for the MA Communication Planning and Design course. He studied art history and library science in Stuttgart and Visual Design in Schwäbisch Gmünd.

From 1983-1984 he headed the Goethe Institute library in Istanbul. In 1988 he developed magazines in the USA, was a magazine designer for “Auto Motor und Sport” in Stuttgart from 1990, and in 1991 became concept designer for the mail-order house of Heinrich Heine in Karlsruhe (Otto Group, Hamburg). Between 1992 and 2004 he was head of design for the scientific magazine “Bild der Wissenschaft”. In addition, as a freelance author he has produced many text and photographic articles for a variety of magazine and book publishers. He was a part-time lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Anhalt in Dessau, the University of Applied Sciences Vorarlberg in Dornbirn and at several of the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd’s partner institutions. He is a member of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) selection committee and of other expert panels.
