Trans-media visualization

The research focus “trans-media visualization” is concerned with the development of didactic concepts for trans-media, film-based, animated, and interactive communication and visualization forms. The goal is to develop a method for the systematic expansion of design media, beginning with visual sensing, through perception, to the methodical operations of symmetry, combinations, and transformations. This would enable reasoned and reproducible variants, and represent a differentiation and significant further development compared with today’s frequently coincidental design efforts. The furthering and development of the field of trans-media visualization integrated into dynamic and unstable media. The scope of the research area goes from design experimentation through the study of applied problem statements to basic research.
