Learning outcomes

After completing this module successfully you will be able to synthesize various design aspects and integrate them in to projects of increased complexity in 3-dimensional space. You will be able to select and apply appropriate design and visualisation tools. You will be capable of critical reflection on the product semantics of design solutions, and will have further developed your discursive abilities.

Module content

Design problems arising from the interrelationship between form, material, and structure and between object, interaction, and function. Analysis and synthesis of specific design-relevant factors, testing design processes and tools, experimentation, visualisation (2D, 3D, 4D), documentation and presentation. Utilization of computer-aided methods of design and visualisation as complementary or alternative tools, with an assessment of the possibilities and limits of different design tools.
