Gender equa­lity and employment

In the perfor­mance of all its tasks, the univer­sity promotes the actual imple­men­ta­tion of equal oppor­tu­ni­ties for women and men and takes this into account as a universal guiding prin­ciple. Equal oppor­tu­ni­ties offi­cers are directly assi­gned to the Recto­rate and have a direct right to speak. They are voting members of the Senate and the appoint­ment commis­sions. They parti­ci­pate in meetings of the Univer­sity Council in an advi­sory capacity.

As an advi­sory committee to the Senate, the Equal Oppor­tu­ni­ties Commis­sion supports the Equal Oppor­tu­ni­ties Offi­cers in their work and serves to network and commu­ni­cate the equal oppor­tu­ni­ties work at the various levels of the univer­sity. Areas of respon­si­bi­lity are distri­buted and processed among the members accor­ding to their compe­ten­cies. Current deve­lo­p­ments and measures in the respec­tive areas of respon­si­bi­lity are discussed at the Equal Oppor­tu­ni­ties Commis­sion meetings.

LaKoG

The State Confe­rence (Landes­kon­fe­renz der Gleich­stel­lungs­be­auf­tragten an den wissen­schaft­li­chen Hoch­schulen Baden-Würt­tem­berg) repres­ents the inte­rests of female scien­tists, students and women of the scien­tific staff at scien­tific and artistic univer­si­ties in Baden-Würt­tem­berg. The LakoG includes the women’s and equal oppor­tu­ni­ties repre­sen­ta­tives of the univer­si­ties, univer­si­ties of educa­tion, art and music colleges.

BuKoF

The Federal Confe­rence (Bundes­kon­fe­renz der Frau­en­be­auf­tragten und Gleich­stel­lungs­be­auf­tragten an Hoch­schulen) is the asso­cia­tion of women’s and equal oppor­tu­ni­ties commis­sio­ners at German univer­si­ties. Its task aims to promote equa­lity and women’s advance­ment at all universities.

The Univer­sity of Applied Sciences (HfG) Schwä­bisch Gmünd has set itself the goal of promo­ting trus­ting coope­ra­tion and a good working and study climate and protec­ting its members from sexual harass­ment, discri­mi­na­tion and bullying. The contact persons advise members and rela­tives of the univer­sity who are affected by sexual harass­ment. Infor­ma­tion about personal and factual circum­s­tances of the persons affected by sexual harass­ment may not be passed on to third parties or other­wise used without their consent.

Against this back­ground and within this frame­work, a guide­line has been drawn up at the Univer­sity of Applied Sciences (HfG) Schwä­bisch Gmünd to promote trustful coope­ra­tion and a good working and study climate as well as to protect against sexual harass­ment, discri­mi­na­tion and mobbing. The guide­line shows the affected univer­sity members and rela­tives rules of conduct, respon­si­bi­lity and neces­sary measures.
