Prof. Dr Gerhard M. Buurman is currently holding the Chair of ‘Scientific Foundations’, a post previously held by Prof. Dr Georg Kneer, who has since retired, until February 2026.
In February 2026, Prof. Dr. Kneer will retire. For two decades, he has shaped the university – through his scholarly approach, great humanity and tireless commitment to an open, fair and reflective academic community.
The HfG is among the winners of the latest round of the federal and state-funded Women Professors Program. As a result, the HfG will be able to secure additional funding to finance professorships that will be filled by women.
