International Seminar Week at the HfG

ISW Hf G Gmuend

Time for inspiration and fresh ideas

From May 4 to 8, 2026, it’s that time again — International Seminar Week (ISW) will take place at the University of Art and Design. The ISW offers students a diverse program of English-language workshops, with 17 different options to choose from this year.

For the ISW, international lecturers from partner universities around the world have been invited to share their expertise and diverse perspectives with our students. This makes the event more international than ever before: lecturers from France, the USA, Portugal, Brazil, Israel, Indonesia, Poland, Thailand, Italy, Hungary, Finland, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Austria will be in attendance.

In the workshops, students from all three bachelor’s programs and from different semesters will work together. This interdisciplinary and international collaboration promises exciting and diverse project outcomes, which will be presented in a small exhibition at the end of the week.

A total of around 300 students are participating in the ISW. In addition to intensive work in the workshops, guests and instructors can look forward to a varied supporting program. The International Seminar Week thus promises to be another inspiring, educational, and international week of collaborative learning and creation.
